2011 Mazda Shinari Concept TopClass View
Mazda has confirmed to join the Australian International Motor Show in July with its new model, the stylish Mazda Shinari. This will be with other models from other carmakers. As it was seen in Milan, Shanghai, Los Angeles and Geneva, Mazda Shinari comes as the representative of the next-generation of Mazda’s styling language, named ‘Kodo’ that means ‘soul of motion’. Kodo is created by Ikuo Maeda – the new global design boss of Mazda.
This new styling language follows the Nagare theme that is developed by the preceding boss of Mazda’s global design, Laurens van den Acker, who now becomes the vice-president of design for Renault. The new concepts, the Kodo style comes with slimmer headlights and tail-lights than most of the current Mazda range that is inspired from Nagare. The new style also brings a new development of Mazda’s signature smile grille, as well as sharper character lines along the body and the flanks.
There are also other new models and concepts that have confirmed to join at the 2011 AIMS. Those are the Toyota Prius V and Prius C, the Suzuki Swift S-Concept, the Range Rover Evoque, the Toyota FT-86 II Concept, the 2012 Audi A6 and the 2012 jaguar XF. More than that, other models, such as all-new Lamborghini Aventador, the Lexus LF-Gh concept, and a preview of JOSS Developments’ upcoming JT1 supercar, have also confirmed to appear at the show.
The Australian International Motor Show opens on Friday 1 July until Sunday 10 July at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, started at 6 pm.
It is said by Maeda that the Kodo language is aimed to show energetic motion that will evoke the viewer’s emotion and affection. The upcoming Mazda Minagi-inspired CX-5 compact SUV – the second concept after the Shinari that is featured with Kodo styling – is the first that is expected to bring the new direction to the market. The Mazda Shinari represents the future Mazda models.
