Design of New Toyota Cars "AURIS"

Power output of the engine determined by 8hp (6kW) and maximum torque increased from 157Nm at 5,200 rpm to 160Nm (118 lb-ft.) At 4400 rpm. It is available with either a six-speed transmission, or a new six-speed MultiMode system with paddle-shift control. With the manual gearbox, CO2 emissions will go down eight percent on 153g/km and fuel consumption increased nine percent in combined cycle driving at 43.5mpg. MultiMode with the reduction in emissions is 15g/km to 146g/km, while fuel economy increased by 4.7mpg - more than 11 percent - to 45.6mpg (combined).

Meanwhile, 90hp (67kW) 1.4L D-4D diesel engine has been upgraded with the Toyota Optimal Drive technology, with increased fuel economy by six per cent to 60.1mpg in combined cycle driving. Carbon dioxide emissions have been reduced, falling from 132 to 125g/km for the manual model, with 127g/km for the automatic transmission version. At the same time, torque is much stronger performance by eight percent, up to a maximum of 205Nm (151 lb-ft.) Between 1800 and 2800 rpm.
