What happens if Ford Fairmont Futura was truly futuristic? What if, in 1980, the car was 10 years ahead of its time? Instead smogger inline-six, what if the '80 Fairmont Futura became a syringe-5.0 V-8, T5 and 8.8 rearend stuffed transmission of traction-lok ?

Fairmont was born in the 70 anemic, when Detroit was learning how to build better cars to come later in the 80's. Of course, you remember the Fairmont Futura. At least one neighbor had one. He probably replaced their aging or Falcon Maverick. Knowing your neighbor dorky, they probably have it ordered with a standard 2.3L overhead-cam four to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Sure .... But have you looked at the potential of Fairmont? The 78-81 Ford Fairmont sedan and two-door fastback Coupe Sport Futura make excellent low-buck restomods. You can enter their cheap land and money into the funnel nice improvements that can make a dull Ford Fairmont tower boss. The Fairmont and Mercury Zephyr corporate cousin Fox was the first Ford valid. If you are not familiar with the Fox body platform, it was the '79-2001 Mustang, '79-'86 Capri, '80-'88 Thunderbird and Cougar, '84-'89 Lincoln Mark VII, even the early 80's era Lincoln Continental four-door sedan.

The car was originally built "Franken-Mont" a gentleman in British Columbia, Canada, when the entire group '90 LX 5.0 engine has been planted in the future. Fox is a Fox body platform, it's amazing how you can add a lot of Fairmont Mustang. In addition, the engine, trans, and 8.8 rear axle, the entire front K-member Assembly was bolted to the Future, which is better braking system to recover from the Mustang, too. Mustang Bar antisway better management, Futura, and a complete exhaust system LX (tailpipes made of stainless steel) bolted to the right and looks perfectly natural. When the 10-hole "phone" wheels, Fairmont is a completely new look. We dare to call it Future LX 5.0?
